About Aztec Enclosures

Since 1981 (the last millenium no less),  Aztec's evolution has been ongoing. Always striving to be better.

It started in Dunnville, ON with a small shop, hand building sunrooms for recreational vehicles and installing them throughout Ontario.  At that time, we were called Advantage Sunroom.  A catchy moniker starting with that all important 'A' for the formidable Yellow Pages.

Next was the advent of reselling product for a larger manufacturer.  At that time, Northstar was the brand that we promoted.  We were now operating a home based business out of Wainfleet, ON and continued selling into the RV market and into Sherkston Shores.

After a few years, we determined that there was room for improvement and customization and we returned to manufacturing our own sunrooms.  This time in the big city of Welland.  Still operating as Advantage Sunroom, we opened a comprehensive showroom with multiple, full size sunrooms on display.  We were the first to have a showroom on this scale.

While we continued with the RV market, a gradual shift was taking place, as the residential market came knocking.

As the residential aspect of the business was taking off, it became clear that manufacturing would have to be on a much larger scale to meet demand.  

To meet that demand, we chose Sunspace Sunrooms as the product we would now promote. Sunspace is an all Canadian company out of Newcastle, Ontario.  We've been a Sunspace dealer now for close to 30 years.

We took this opportunity to rebrand and realign our business in the marketplace.  This was the 1990's. Canada was in a recession and businesses struggled to survive. We opted to downsize our operation considerably by going back to a home based business model without the showroom and survive we did.

While the dawn of the internet was looming, we were still in the era of the Yellow Pages. Having a business name that started with 'A' was critical for listing priority and a name that suggested the sun.  Hence the name Aztec.  Sun worshippers after all.

The arrival of the internet and it's household use, saw the demise of the Yellow Pages and subsequently newspapers and the rise of the website.  For years it seemed clients were only interested in website presence and seeing us at home shows, which had been part of our marketing for decades.

Things change. We now needed storage space for the amount of product we were ordering and it made sense again to have a small showroom. That was on Vaughan Rd in Welland.

More storage demands led to a move to Clark St, Welland and an improved showroom.  We started to see increased traffic at the showroom and it became clear that the showroom was extremely valuable to clients. After all, buying a sunroom or patio cover is a big decision.

When  another unit at the Clark St location became available, we snapped  it up to make an even bigger, more comprehensive showroom. Now 4000 square feet of showroom!  We look forward to seeing you there!
